So I'm writing and illustrating a children's book.

Here is the first page.  Inspired visually by Arthur Rackham's fantastic, detailed victorian english illustrations.  Inspired in the realm of ideas by Lewis Carroll and other purveyors of the landscape of the imagination.  I drew this with a micron pen and made some water smudges with my thumb.

The book is tentatively called OTIS ALEXANDER AND THE VERY SPECIAL TREE...  Living in the pacific northwest, trees do take on personas whether ones like that sort of thing or not.  They rule the landscape.  Growing up in California, I had my special tree to tell all my secrets to.  Here's hoping Otis Alexander will find the same magical friend in a tree that I did.
