I am a singer/songwriter and illustrator based in Los Angeles.
My work is guided by a fascination with both picture books and sad, or strange, or beautiful songs, and the special place that these things occupy in the individual and collective human experience. I studied New Genres at San Francisco Art Institute (BFA 2003) and Illustration at the Pacific Northwest College of Art (2015). I grew up in a folkie music community in California with aspirations to be a painter like Helen Frankenthaler and a soprano with a guitar like the one in Anne Sexton’s poem “The Fury of Guitars and Sopranos”.
In addition to freelance illustrating, I am a teaching artist at the Brentwood Art Center in Los Angeles.
