I am an illustrator, writer, and musician.
Inspired by the realms of the imagination. Particular, personal dream worlds. Don Quixote, The Little Prince, Alice in Wonderland, the surrealists, and the lands of make-believe. The fantastic as a tool for discovering truth. Not-so-Simple ideas translated into simple terms. My work inhabits art galleries, record albums, magazines, luxury hotels, tv and film, children's books, written and visual communication for applied physics and mathematics, and illustrated academic and literary fiction books.
I am the illustrator and songwriter in residence at the Crescent Hotel in Beverly Hills, the Director of Communications at ITAC, and a writer, illustrator, and songwriter throughout the US and abroad.
Some of my favorite authors and illustrators are Antoine De Saint-Exupéry, Marianne Dubuc, Beatrice Alemagna, Jorge Luis Borges, Christian Robinson, A.A. Milne, Oliver Jeffers, Kay Nielsen, Madeleine L'Engle, Arnold Lobel, Jon Klassen, Ruth Krauss, Leonora Carrington, Carson Ellis, Isabelle Arsenault, Lewis Carroll, Lisbeth Zwerger, Maurice Sendak, Albert Camus, and Roald Dahl. I’m also devoted fan of ancient Japanese woodblock prints.
My education is in conceptual art and critical theory. I have a B.F.A. in conceptual art/new genres from the San Francisco Art Institute and studied Communications Design and Illustration at the Pacific Northwest College of Art. I write songs and sing them with the kind support of Evangeline Recording Co. My 2008 album The Ideal Hunter was a favorite of NPR, SPIN, AllMusic, San Francisco Bay Guardian, as well as various regional publications. A new collection of songs with solo electric guitar and voice debuted in early 2017 in London, U.K.
Current projects include two picture books and recordings of new music, as well as a monthly supper club musical performance at the Crescent Hotel Beverly Hills for 2018.
